Our Mission

"The Philomath Community Foundation is committed to serving the needs of youth and family, assisting the elderly and fostering community service, including arts and economic development."

The Philomath Community Foundation fulfills it's mission as a 501(c) (3) foundation by:

¤    Encouraging private giving to charitable endowments for public good.

¤    Providing a flexible tax-exempt way for donors with diverse philanthropic interests to make gifts benefiting the community.

¤    Carrying out grant and gift making programs that are visionary, inclusive and enhance the quality of life of the Philomath Community.

The Philomath Community Foundation is presently a small foundation but we are growing and we intend to continue growing to help the interests of the Philomath area. We all know that Philomath is a unique community with a rich history of sharing and giving back to our community.

2011 Scholarship recipients with Dwight Grass

In 2011 our focus is on meeting special needs in the community that are related to the overall national economic downturn.  Our Board has been very pleased to receive support from many individuals and organizations in the form of encouraging comments about the work of the Foundation.  We are especially pleased by the continued giving by members of the community.

In addition, one of our goals in 2011 is to continue to develop special gifts, endownments and scholarships from individuals, families, and companies that wish to provide a lasting legacy to support a particular area of interest. Fortunately, as we enter 2012 we hope to see improvements in our economy which will add to our capacity to fund grant requests.

In addition to endowments to support certain areas of interest, the Foundation also provides support in the following areas.

Arts & Economic Development          10%

Assistance to the Elderly                  10%

Community Service                           20%

Youth and Family                              60%

In addition to these states areas in giving, we also manage special gift designations.

In 2011-2012 we will continue to develop special gifts, endowments and scholarships from individuals and families who wish to establish a lasting legacy in support of their particular area of interest.  Please contact any member of the Board of Directors to learn more about the work of the Philomath Community Foundation
